I guess they set up something to catch him doing it. When I heard it I thought it was so dumb but i guess it worked. They put a cake in the fridge that had a note on it saying "please don't eat" and they set up cameras in the break room. The guy ended up eating the cake. Then when my dad had to go and fire him he said it was very sad the guy was just like "I'm sorry I'm just hungry." I guess he was some really big fat guy too. But at what point do you get to where you have to start eating other peoples food including something that has a note on it saying not to eat it. |

In a slander case, the burden is on the plaintiff to prove beyond a preponderance of the evidence that the defendant's allegation is a lie, not the defendant's burden to prove that the allegation is true. So don't keep your mouth shut because of a lawsuit that could never happen. Yeti is right, stealing food is still stealing (unless you or your family is starving, which is clearly not the case here); it's no different than not being able to resist taking the cash out of a bank truck. |
