thank you to sherwood (skinless) for saying he'd put on their list and joey (in dire need) for pulling me in on his list. I realy appreciate it. The living room is an amazingly weird place. I swear that I'll never figure that whole place out. From all the weird room every where to the fact you can piss into a hole in the back and turn around, still watching the band. I do have a feeling that more big shows will be coming to that place. in dire need: doing their first show with the new line-up. yea, it only took them 2 months, but they played great (minus the ~\/~). The addition of Aaron (ex shading the end) on bass works well (though he tends to fall between the stage and the monitors) and moving Mr. Delay to guitar work (guitars are smaller and lighter to throw around at people). I thought they played awesome, but where I was, I couldn't really hear the "huge" sound. I was let down by this until farewell came on. and then I realized it was where I was standing and that's why I couldn't hear a lot of what was going on. It seemed like a lot of the crowd that was there for most fo the nice was there to see idn. Very awesome for them. At one pint I was in the crowd snapping pictures and I look to my left to see a fight going on. I thought to myself 'oh, a fight, I'd best move.". gut thrusting torment: a local band that I've never heard of before, they sounded a bit like a more simple dying fetus. I'm not sure what I thought of them over all. The first song they played was really good, but I got distracted on most of the last tracks. They also need a new drummer, the current one is moving to cali to become a pornstar. as i lay dying: IMHO these guys stole the show. I knew what to expect with the other bands, but just like the last time I saw them (2002-06-05), I was blown away. Their new cd is pretty amazing and live it's just as good. At the point that they started, I think the crowd as at it's peak. they ripped through a set that I thought was way too short, but whatever. They played forever and I should be happy about that. It was funny during their set cause one guitar play made a 'wait a second' hand gesture so I did and caught a cool shot. behemoth: still no giant horns and synths, just like the met show, stripped down and brutal. They had some technical issues that made them not start exactly on time, but once they started playing I forgot about that. They riped through a bunch f zaos tracks which was foremost in my mind. During the last song, the pa was cut on them. it sucked. they ended up leaving... i don't know... it seems weird to cut a band off during their last song. skinless: Damn was it cool to see optimist live again. They played (was seemed like) short set, but it was a good one. They played a bunch of tracks off the new cd. Granted that I was up front/on stage for their, but there were a few guitar parts that sounded off. Does any one know if there are 2 guitar tracks on the actual cd? These guys are one of my favorite bands and it's been cool watching them progress from the sludgey-death-grind progressions to great death metal cd, sacrifice to survial. Their new drummer, ex origin, is amazing. he's an absolute machine. It's awesome to hear him doing a stomp impression before the show. absolutely amazingly fast. he's a great addtion even on the last track, for all the ladies, tampon lollipops. six feet under: They took a while to get on stage and by this time most of the crowd had left. They started off with bringer of blood and then a few old songs.. leading into their 6th song, hatred. I heard someone in the front saying "chris barnes is a pussy". I thought to myself "hehe, that ac song. that's funny" and took a few pictures of the set list "yes, they are going t play torture killer". when I looked back at the stage, they weren't playing... and chris barnes was no where to be seen. and they I realized the guy in the front of the stage was Seth Putnam from Anal Cunt and he was the one shout the ac line. I guess seth was there to prove once and again that chris barnes would fight him. He then sat out side his tour bus waiting for him. I totally lost respect there... I mean seriously, I stayed for your set so fucking play the damn thing, they worry about shit in the crowd, what a queen.
