Originally released in 1991 and long heralded as one of the heaviest, sickest, and most uncompromising metal albums in the world, Onward To Golgotha redefined the bounds of brutality and blasphemy for all of death metal. Founder and guitarist/vocalist John McEntee comments on the re-issue: "I have been looking forward to this reissue for a long time now. It's amazing that true Blasphemous Death Metal ended up being so timeless." Additionally, Onward... was recently named as one of the 20 best death metal albums of all time as well as one of the most important records in the genre by Decibel Magazine. I've never had any dealings with Relapse myself but I have a lot of friends in Relapse bands. From the stories I've heard, Relapse is a billion times worse than Earache. And that is really saying something. |
