not trying to get toooo excited yet, but...[views:1890][posts:19]_____________________________________________ [Sep 24,2006 6:15pm - MarkFuckingRichards ""] i may have just gotten the "big" art job i need to establish myself as a professional illustrator. fuck yeah! when i was in florida for vacation a few weeks ago, i put a small stack of my business cards in a record store called Uncle Sam's. i just got a call from some guy in ft. lauderdale who picked up the card and wants me to illustrate an entire comic book/graphic novel type publication for a movie that will be featured in the sundance film festival. i guess he won 3rd prize for some screenwriting contest for the script, so he now has a huge grant for it, an agent/manager, a buttload of sponsorships, the script is copyrighted and published, the comic book will be published, and production of the film starts in late december/early january if all goes well. so this means i get paid a large chunk of cash for the art itself, plus royalties from the comic book, and if i end up doing storyboarding for the movie, i get royalties for the movie. either way, the big thing is that my work will be published and i will have my name in the credits for the movie. i bet tomorrow i'll end up cutting my hands off at work somehow and my life will be ruined, hahaha. i get the script tonight, hopefully it doesn't suck. all i know is that it features graphic stuff, so i'm in the right business, haha. |
