Wed's do suck, But I liked the venue quite a bit, so that's why I persued a Wed show. I just wish I had more time to promote as this is the first real attempt. Just had so much going on with the Katatonia (and I know you understand what I am saying)

Rex is decent to work with. Are you sure dan confirmed the entire night with rex? or is it possible since gallows is more of a local, he may have wanted at least one local on the bill. Mortis Deveia is a decent band to play with too.... though if dan did confirm the entire night, then thats rex's fault. I'm sure he'll make things right.

Thats why i posted as soon as i saw a mismatch between rex and rttp. The intention was to make everyone aware the lineup may have changed before the hype was built. There are plenty of other shows to hop on if you are serious about coming up to dover.

gallows: it sounded kind of rough at the beginning. They were down one guitar player so there was a lot of stuff missing. Finally, nick turned up his guitar and it all worked out. they tightened up and sounded awesome. They even played a cover, slaughter of the soul. omar and mike do a funny dance on that stage. you know omar thrashing about ans mike not wanted to get clocked. at one point omar fell over the monitors.

mortis deveia: I would say they went over well, but that would be a severe understatment. They had a bunch of people screamming, waving claws, and tossing the horns. This started right at the beginning of their set, too. and as would be expected on the first song.. the mix near the stage left much to be desired. DIE is right, henri does shred like a mofo. His leads were way too loud at first. After one song and a couple of adjustments, they rocked out a few more tunes which sounded so much better. The DBH stage is perfectly sized... for a 4 person band, but fitting 5 people up there who all move around was a bit of a challenge. The singer kept getting tangled up in her chord and the rest of them were planted to the ground more than usual. Oh and at their end of their set, I got a 5-track CDR. I've been waiting for that for a while. these guys (and girl) have a crazy good hype going on about them. They are playing good music, are getting on some pretty good shows, and at liked by a very diverse group of people.

shroud of bereavement: somehow they fit 6 people on stage better than Mortis Deveia fit 5. I'm going to chalk it up to shrouds practice with it. Usually, they are trying to fit 7 (sometimes 8) people on impossibly small stages. watching zack try to set up the increasing number of instruments on stage while manuvering all the gear was akin to watch people trying to break into a bank and having to limbo past laser beams. He just smiled and went with it, using mose of their mic stands. With out their other singer, julie had to do all the girl parts. She has a really great sounding voice so it worked out fine. for you shroud fans, she's been doing backups for the lead females for a while now. They played 2 or 3 songs and asked how much time they had left. In a dramatic turn of events, they still had 30 minutes. Amazing. I doubt this has ever happened in the history of SOB. Over the corse of their set, people slowly filtered out, leaving ~20 people in the bar by the time they were done, but after 5 songs, most of these people were still up in the front of the stage. Like all the bands tonight, after the first song, they sounded awesome.
It was cool seeing kyle and meeting up with a guy who's listened to RttP for YEARS.

hey guys it's dan of bereavement. I am not online cause I got a new apartment. Anyway, sorry to the accursed and coffin Birth. Definitely a weird mix up. I guess Rex never got my email with the bands on it. Whatever, I know I sent it, but maybe he deleted it or lost it. Either way, Sorry guys. Rex seemed cool, so no probs here. Both bands last night I thought were very good!
