I think the 600,000 dead in the battle of the bulge is a much lesser tragedy than 3000 dead in iraq (plus scores of thousands of iraqis) since atleast the 600,000 died for a reason. ""] medical care in battle is much more advanced then it was in wwII, many of the 600k would have been saved if the technology was there to bring people to medics quickly on site then bring them to a military hospital. i was reading an article the other day, ill try to find it and post it, it was saying how this war is creating more amputees then past wars because instead of dying on the field, soldiers are getting treatments. its def a good thing more people are survivng, but its a hard road when you have to deal with a loss of a limb after serving. |
