There are a few things I'm looking for and im not sure if i can get all of it in one, or what would be my best choices. - recording - production - editing - generating tones - mix/mastering i basically want to be able to make noise tracks and loops, while being able to add recorded media to the mix. all with one machine, preferably one program. any suggestions? |
| ______________________________________ [Nov 7,2006 5:46pm - partyasteroid ""] cool edit...or adobe audition. i think thats what it is called now. unlimited multitrack recording, tons of available effects and equalizers for production. it also allows you to generate noise (white, pink and brown) and will allow for tone generation. the only better program for noise & tone generation is fruity loops but it lacks the recording option. hope that helps. |

Powerkok is right though, Acid is probably a good bet. Protools is the industry standard for recording but if your just working on your own stuff there are better programs. Personally I like Digital Performer. Also, not to sound stuck up or anything, but despite it's name, CoolEditPro is not all that "pro". Compared to other programs it's pretty limited in what it can do. |

As far as buying......there is really no need, you can find it online, with keygens for the prog and the plug ins, on any torrent site. If you are 'anti-piratism' then fine, go ahead and buy it, but I just wanted you to know that its easily available on isohunt. ALSO..... if you go that route, you may as well dl Waves bundle plug in's. They have some crazy fx/parameter manipulators, that YOU may find very useful (based on you saying you wanted a noise/tone gen track) |

| _________________________________ [Nov 8,2006 1:11am - powerkok ""] Ya, its one of the many new features on 6.0, really a big upgrade compared to their past version updates. Also, the new groove tool is great...it lets you switch a drum track to 2/4 3/4 4/4 4/5 all with a click of a button....HOURS of programming are now as easy as clicking a button. Pretty cool. Also....their MIDI compatability got way more user friendly, which I personally love, for what I do with the prog. It even supports mpegs....but unlike Vegas, you can only open 1 video at a time. |
