Um, we certainly weren't going to pay you to come see this...if we knew who the fuck you were, maybe we'd pay you for NOT coming.

some band like live: not originally on the bill, but they got tossed on for some reason. they sounded like live. A lot of their family came in and watched them. I guess they had a huge-zilla setlist and would have played for 1 1/2 hrs if they were given the chance. In the middle of their set, everyone but the guitar player left the stage and he sang a clean song. one of the guitar players looked really familiar, but doesn't everyone these days?

The Breaking: I don't think I've seen then before... Basically, the whole band looked familiar (then again with the "must shave head" prerequisite of this band, they could just look familiar). Thrashy mental with some screaming, some stuff that also sounds like 3 inches of blood almost, a few gutterals (especially near the end), and some norwaigan sounding stuff. I think the singer was in blistered earth or some band like that. I will have to look at pictures to see.

sumo: when they were playing their first song, I thought to myself "this sounds like tool. Why did I like them?" they diverged heavily from that after the first song. They even had a song that sounded meshuggahy. that's the stuff I like from them and not the tool sounding stuff. The singer gets way into it too. I think at sweet leaf they had a movie going on behind themselves.

ichabod: even though 1/4 of the people filtered out by this point, it was still good. They had their huge banner up so it nicely blocked the glare back from the window. They rocked out hard. I have no clue how many songs they did or anything but it was pretty damn loud. This set reminded me of their set at the sweetleaf fest. The lights were going crazy, like mad disco lights and they asked for them to be turned off, the sound guy did for about 1/2 a song and then they all came back. I'm thinking that they don't know what 'no lights' means at this place. For the period that the lights were off, I figured that I would be the one providing the blinding lights and calmed my flash down.

Some guy outside repeated over and over again about what the bar "should do" to get customers. His last idea was "you put some acid rock in here and kids will come!" ok buddy.

Sumo & Ichabod both put on excellent performances last night! As for my band, The Breaking, our 1st show felt real good and we're hoping to share the stage with both bands again in the future. Thanks too RTTP for coming out too the show and taking such amazing pics! ~John ps...yes I was in Blistered Earth \m/

Untitled: "we are untitled on purpose" members of ichabod said that they were the slower parts of tool mixed with the beattles. I honestly didn't hear any beatles in there (but I'm not a beatles fan). Well, nothing beyond the fact that every band post-60's could be considered influenced by the beatles. Their first song DID sound a lot like tool. But after that, it reminded me more of porcupine tree than anything else. Their second to last song was an acustic version of number of the beast. That ruled and was worth driving out on a week night to see by itself. These guys are usually a 2 piece, but on this night, they were a 3 piece. you could tell the person not in the usual 2.
