so my precious Chevy Caprice Estate wagon has a blown intake manifold gasket. not that it cant be fixed... its just too much trouble to fix it so im junking it. it did me good.... went all over New England without a problem and had approx. 250,000 miles on the engine without a rebuild. thats fucking amazing if you ask me and it would still run fine if it was worth getting the gasket fixed. very comfortable vehicle... im gonna miss it =[

you have to replace ALL the gaskets if you replace one.
a full gasket kit on a chevy might run you $170 too just for the parts.
I just put new front pads on my saturn last night. the old pads got 173,000 miles on them.

A gasket set would be much cheaper after market though.
I bet he could get it for under a hundred.
The labor would probably be like 3 1/2 to 4 hours though.

yeah... labor is probably gonna take all day because you have to take off a couple pulleys, the belts, air filter, carb, THEN the intake manifold, then scrape the old gasket off (probably the original factory gasket so its most likely torched on there good) and then i have to out all that shit back on and well... we were gonna get rid of it anyway because its just old and very well appreciated and these crown vics that my dad and i are looking at are just too great of a deal for 2 ex cop cars (police interceptor engines :doublehorns

6 cylinder chevy compact gasket set was $70 after market.
I think it was a 2.1 liter engine.
