They'd start at like 9 am and never stop until at least 3:00. This one spanish lady used to call every single day, and my mother would scream at her and tell her she didn't speak spanish. I finally had to put all my 5 years of spanish classes to work to convince the lady not to call back. The best were the ones that were horribly unprepared for their jobs. Once, I answered the phone to the sound of violent coughing. I said hello when he was done, the guy totally panicked, and I could hear the shuffling of papers while he said "Is ummmm mister ummmm yeah....." followed by the worst pronunciation of my last name I've ever heard. I said "you really suck at this, pal." and hung up. |
