yea bodom certainly had the best sounding drums out of any show i have ever been to. it took about 3 songs to get the guitar mix right, but damn, their sound guy knows his shit.

I don't think I'm going to palladium shows ever again. I only went to see Amon Amarth; I had a feeling they were going to play some older stuff but that wasn't the case. It's extremely sad to see that what the crowd is at these shows now. Not to mention they were all chanting and yelling at cars to go to the red light near the palladium.

90% of the fans got dropped off by their parents.

I'm disgusted.

Yeah it pissed me to see so many beardless boys in the crowd, so many women too!!! no offense to women, but most of them only go for idol worship or to impress their boyfriends.

Gojira was sick, first time I've heard music from them, must say I will buy an album sometime.

Amon Amarth, one of my favorite bands, so thus the best of the night for me, at first I was up front, then because I couldn't breathe I decided to hit the pit, had fun in their chanting the songs, pushing around people, getting knocked around, sliding on the sweat laden floors. I was sad they didn't play much of the older stuff, at least they played death in fire, but it doesn't matter anyways because I love the new stuff as well as the old. Sad they ended with persuit of vikings and not vs the world.

Bodom, stayed out of the crowd until needled 24/7 then stayed in the pit til the end, my injun friend got knocked in the nose, he bled all over some little kid. I was pissed that even though this is the fourth time I saw bodom, they did not play Black Widow.

Walked to white hen afterward (a concert tradition my friends and I have)

tons of people asked for my shit, I was suprised so many people knew who ensiferum were, at least at that show, or that they could read the logo from across the street.

all in all, the best palladium concert I have seen, and a good end to the four weekends of palladium concerts.

now I have to wait til february for Enslaved, and march for 1349 (at least for national bands)

saw the show last night, I was the kid in the iced earth shirt with the blonde girlfriend. show was fucking amazing. sanctity kicked major ass, i loved their sound and stage presence. I did not like gojira AT ALL, very disappointed. amon amarth was spectacular, as was bodom. I wanna give special props to the bodom crew, the lighting and sound was spectacular. best show i've seen in a LONG time.

The best part of the night for me was when I was taking a piss and the whole bathroom was complaining about how the Enslaved show is going to be 18+.
"Who are they playing with?"
"Dark Funeral."
"What? Bah, I don't like Black metal.."

I went to the show also, I was the one wearing the Opeth "Still Life" T-shirt. Only went to see Amon Amarth, who completely wrecked everyone else. Bodom was alright, but they got boring fast. Gojira was a nice surprise, and Sanctity, as someone else said, sounded like another "Trivium". I got to meet Johan (AA vocalist). I told him next time they need to headline.

there were tons of people I saw turn and leave the minute amon amarth was done. Still, looking back in the crowd, there were tons of people there. Probably more that blind guardian.

children of bodom: probably the biggest set/set up I've seen them have yet. There are giant C O B lights wth lazers every where. Keep in mind, these are all backlighting so the pictures are going to blow. as soon as they started, the criss-crossing cowd surfers started. The staff looked like they were having a problem keeping up. Most of the people who usually watch from above were down in the pit, catching people. The huge COB didn't come on until a couple songs into the set. Most of the time, it illuminated the keyboardist drinking a beer (there was actually a dude there replacing the keyboardist's beer). I listened on the floor until beach blanket bodom and then walked to the back of the building and up to the balcony. The sound was incredible and the light was terrible for non-flash photography, but good for the crowd.

Amon Amarth was the band that I wanted to see the most, but I showed up during their last song. WTF? For as long as I can remember, every show at the Palladium has started at 9:00, and the doors have always opened at 8:00. I didn't think that this show would start an entire hour earlier. I heard Amon Amarth only played for about 20 minutes, too. The Palladium has been sucking like that lately.

The place was ridiculously packed, and yes, there were A LOT of high school kids there. I was actually wondering how many of them bought their outfits at Hot Topic just for the show. In some ways, it's nice to see a lot of young people getting into metal. In other ways, it's downright annoying.

I was in the crowd for Children of Bodom. It was tightly packed, like one huge slowly moving sweaty mosh pit. Occasionally, pits would break out in the most random places. There were waaaayyyy too many crowd surfers. I kept seeing a lot of kids trying to pick up their friends so that they could crowd surf and failing miserably. I also saw a lot of crowd surfers get dropped. After being kicked in the head by a few crowd surfers, I generally want to kill them all.

I'm glad Children of Bodom played a couple of songs off Hatebreeder. I love that album. I'm not really a fan of their new stuff, though.

Yeah, I thought the new stuff was old stuff I never heard of before, I don't know how people complain about their new stuff, I couldn't tell the difference.

you got a bargain with that moonspell hoodie. i'd say 90% of the hoodies i see for sale at ig shows are $60.

Damn it! Maybe my friend told me that they only played for 20 minutes so that I wouldn't feel so bad about missing them. I was NOT HAPPY about it. >:]

i would have been pissed if i missed them. they went on earlier than i thought they were going to. we got there when gojira had about 2 songs left and i figured the first band would've still been on.

palladium shows pretty standardly start at 7 or 8.
you can check http://www.massconcerts.com and it shows the start times there.

There is also http://www.thepalladium.net as well.

I always remember the shows there starting around 9:00, sometimes 8:00. I think they've been starting them earlier within the last year or so. Either that, or they've made sure that there is less of a delay before the bands start. I've been to quite a few shows there when the first band didn't start until at least half an hour after the time when the show was supposed to start, which is pretty normal for a lot of venues.

I know a lot of people who got there at around 9:00 expecting that the first band would still be playing.

I'm sure that it's definitely better now for those who have such a long drive home. I remember how nice it was when I used to live within walking distance to The Palladium. It didn't matter how late the show ended or whether there was an after party that lasted until 6:00AM. No matter what happened, the walk home was always fun.

Remember when mayhem played upstairs there? and they showed up at 2 am? I remember being one of ten people in the audience, and I remember the clock striking 4:00 am while I was driving home. It was a cold december night, and I recall feeling the loneliest I've ever felt on that drive.

This was my 5th time seeing CoB (prolly gunna be the last til they get new stuff so I can stop hearing songs from AYDY) second time seeing Amon Amarth and first time for Gojira and Sanctity.

Someone mentioned that there was only one crowd surfer for Sanctity...that was me. I went u for Zeppo and I think Seconds. I seemed to be one of the few people that really enjoyed them. I thought they were impressive for an opener.

Gojira was a little dissapointing. Idk, just couldn't get into them. Didn't help that their opening song was kind of a downer. I DID like that one of them had my guitar though, lol.

Amon Amarth was great, just like the first time I saw them. They are very charismatic as someone already mentioned and they always get the crowd going. Runes to my Memory was a very moving song.

CoB was amazing as always. It kind of sucks that ever since AYDY they play Living Dead Beat, Are You Dead Yet?, In Your Face and We're not Gunna Fall. Not saying those songs are bad or anything, but I'd rather here so many other songs. I was very surprised to hear the Mask of Sanity/Deadnight Warrior mix, but dissapointed they didn't play Kissing the Shadows like I thought they were gunna. I didn't mind not hearing crowd favorites such as Silent Night Bodom Night, Hate Crew Deathroll and Everytime I Die since I've heard them so many times lives before.

All in all, great show. Would have been better if the kid in the front row standing next to me would have put his fat arms down for 2 seconds of the CoB set. And a word to all you 15 and 16 year olds in the first few rows...HOLD YOUR OWN OR STOP BITCHING!! Thank you :-D
