I'm not trying to start up any more shit here, but I don't understand this hatred for "hobby rockers". Is it really a bad thing if playing music is a hobby? Not everyone who starts a band is aiming to be a rock star. Some people just play because they like to.
As far as Josh Martin needing to play "better music" - hey, he can play whatever he wants to. His style isn't intended to be socially acceptable. Just because you don't like his music doesn't mean he should change. Personally, I think he's quite good at what he does and I enjoy the music I've heard from his bands.
It sounds to me that you just like being able to say you know people in bands, and that you are able to help bands become more successful, and it makes you mad when some bands aren't intrested in being as successful as you want to be able to take them, so you call them "hobby rockers" like they're morons for not wanting your help.

Hey, be a hobby rocker, that's great... just don't ask to be on my bill (unless you're willing to pay to play). A promoter is an investor, so I don't invest into hobby rockers. But the bartender gave us total open bar anyways so we got to take the case home and drink it the next day. Seth and I were basically glued to our barstools drinking kamikazes until 10 seconds before we had to play.
Genos was an awesome place to play, Leigh. You could learn a whole lot from those guys. Your posts here show that you know nothing about the way things work.

Well, josh let me tell you something here! we take our bands out for lobster or have a catering service, we dont just give them PIZZA and beer! Geno's is a great club and im friends with there promoter. she's freaking awsome! but the capacity of geno's like 150 and you have to put a band in the right place with the right capacity. the capacity we normally book is between 250 and 600. and we put the bands ad's on TV locally on VH1 and Mtv2 Headbangers Ball, Clear Channel Radio and Nassua Communications. (Tv is the king of all media) Not to mention flyering ... Lets see i did 4 thousand hand bills, 200 11x17 posters ect... you get the idea. WE PROMOTE!
and seeing how you've acted josh I WOULDNT WANT YOU TO PLAY A SHOW FOR US! WE WORK WITH PROFESSIONALS! Promotor's are investors in a band! and we've made sure that our agent's (that's right josh we use agents in LA and NYC) know WE DONT WANT YOU!

When we played Genos in Portland a couple months ago the promoter brought us a case of beer. But the bartender gave us total open bar anyways so we got to take the case home and drink it the next day. Seth and I were basically glued to our barstools drinking kamikazes until 10 seconds before we had to play.
Genos was an awesome place to play, Leigh. You could learn a whole lot from those guys. Your posts here show that you know nothing about the way things work.
Oh, and the show was completely sold out. They had to turn away 40 people. But I would never play a show for you. Too bad. I've been touring around the world for over 10 years now and am sick to death of dealing with moron promoters.

Hell, we've even lent equipment to mortal enemies so they could play their sets. I wanted to let everyone know what a piece of shit you are and the best way was to let your own words do the work. I never would have thought you would still be here, still bitching, making threats and an ass out of yourself six months later. I honestly thought it would have only lasted for that thread and you would have gone your marry way.
And to those who are reading this novel, I personally want to apologize to everyone of this board for the way I acted in the past. Seeing the way Horseface makes an ass of herself on RTTP is like looking into a mirror (through the Hubble telescope at 100 feet away). For years I was a very jaded person and doing Down East Aggression has opened my eyes and really shown me all the great metal there is just in Maine alone. Also, over the years 13W has taken a lot of hits from the RTTP board and I know the majority of that is because of the way I acted in the past. I've learned to take the slams as more constructive criticism instead of doing asinine shit like the time I attacked Carina. I randomly attacked a girl in a photo I didn't recognize to make the people on the board feel the way I did whenever Diana was attacked. Diana was totally innocent and only went on RTTP once in her life but she's the one who took 65% of the hits. But me doing the same thing to get even didn't only just not lower myself to the level of asshole, I hurt someone who actually supported my band. It was a hard lesson learned. I don't expect the regulars of RTTP to welcome me back with open arms and flowers but I would just like to regain the respect I once had all those years ago before all the negative shit and open some civil dialogues with its members.
