NY blackened melodic death w/ violin band touring Northeast (HUNG)[views:5032][posts:11][show listing] ________________________________ [Jan 5,2007 2:20pm - jrb2971 ""] After another sucessful Metal Thursday last nite at Ralph's in Woostah, I felt obliged to help out this very promising band from NYC. The crowd was very impressed with their 1st MA show last night that they cheered for an encore. They are playing tonite at KC's Tap in Pawtucket (around 9pm or so). I should be there, handing out some free samplers and schmoozing. Then they are looking for a show for Sunday (their O'brien's show got cancelled, due to remodelling?). Lastly, they will be playing with Scourge! at the Spyder room? what's it called now? I've put some links to some quick videos I took with my phone last nite(plus I took some pictures). I highly recommend checking them out and having a beer with me. They are are great for networking, if any bands want to swap shows for ones here for one in NYC through them. Lyris Hung is the band leader and really plays great electric violin. (aka the band name Hung). I think most of the people in the crowd had to change their underwear after they played. The violin player was amazing. She played with a great deal of emotion. The guitar player could really shred, too, but unfortunately, the sound guy had the guitar too low in the mix, and it was hard to hear him. Some of the clean vocals were also too quiet. I would say that they were like a cross between My Dying Bride and The Sins of They Beloved, but that wouldn't do them enough justice. |
