Alright, I'm probably picking up a Jackson DK2 or DK2M soon. I don't like the JB in the bridge, so I'll probably throw something else in. I was leaning towards the Bill & Becky Lawrence L500XL. Thoughts? I'd rather not go active, not really my bag.

EMG HZ's through any Behringer cab. You cannot go wrong with that. Trust me. The Behringers turn Hzs into the most brutal sound imaginable. Try it out and let me know bro.

hahahahaha...I love it!

but seriously. the Seymour Duncan JB/59 combo is always pretty sound. Dimarzio X2N's are good. There are plenty more, but I'm coming up blank currently.

usually i just say "want to bang?" but a more gentlemanly pickup line might work better.

Just read that you said you don't like the JB in the bridge. Sorry! Reading comprehension failure.

If you don't want a JB, or an EMG, there's only one way to go:

Dimarzio X2N!

best metal pickup in the history of sound.

Dont you have to route out the pickup cavity like another 1/2 inch to fit a muy grande?

EMG all day
otherwise.
I really need another guitar to slap a X2N in.

Dimarzio Dropsonic, IMO is one of the most underrated passive metal pickups of all time.

The leads thru that and my bolt on NJ are amazing for the situation.
Having 2 neck thru's as my main guitars, I have shunned the bolt on, but I will record every solo, or lead harmony, with it, hands down.

I just cant/ dont want to sacrifice my main, chunky, biting rhythm sound my EMG 81 gives me.

duncan invader is nice but can be noisy, dimarzio super distortion could be what youre looking for too

imo the duncan invader is muddy as shit in anything but alder bodies, and the super dist works best in mahogany bodies.
