decomformity: I didn't know they were playing. I ran in and caught 3 songs. Sounded good. They were all sweaty by the time I got in. One thing that was too bad, besides the fact that they were playing their hearts out to almost no one, the PA was way too quiet. People who know me know that I'm very very very careful of and anal about my ears and earplugs. I was able to walk all the way to the front and all with out them in.
one of the euro bands got yelled at for bringing in out side beers. one of the security guards wanted to re-search my camera bag cause he thought I was bringing the offending beers in. luckily I turned my back on him and he left.

Sapremia: they completely rule. The music is like 90's death metal with vader vocals. Unfortunantely, there was still barely anyone here. but it doesn't matter to me. Free motion. They would be much better at o'briens. It was the guitar player on stage right's birthday. the sound was way too quiet during them. Eh, it was a little better now. their was some weird watery sound to some of their guitar riffs, but I think it.s the club not them (zircon had it too.)
downfall: massive amounts of head banging and a little bit of movement for them. The crazy hispanic kids in the crowd were headbanging so hard they looked like they were going to rip out the barricade. The sound from the stage was finally loud enough during their set. The house PA was a touch quiet, but that's it. This let their guitars project themselves off the stage nicely.

zircon: at the beginning of their set, I thought that it was going to not go that well. They people from the audience pulled in, the band hit their groove on and viola! They were absolutely tight. I don't know how they do it, but on some of the more blistering parts, it sounds like their are keys playing behind them. I kept wondering if the sound guy left music on.. But it was too perfect with the music. I haven't check on the status of coffin birth, but anthony's moved in to zircon and will be hard to get out. he's totally in his element with this band (coffin birth to zircon is what the industry calls a latteral move).

belphegor: awesome awesome awesome. They were awesome. One of those sets that I get crappy pictures, but don't care cause the band is so awesome. Their drummer is my new favorite person for joining the band just in time for the tour. He played really well and I didn't see any mistakes or hesitations. People from the audience kept playing the guitar for the lead guy. Er.. I say "play" but it was more like mashing their fingers against the strings. I'm not one to tell people when they are doing something wrong and I've never played guitar, but I know enough to know that that them there string things is what makes the musac happen</southern accent>. I think one of the deconformity guitars actually crowd surfed during their set and wasn't kicked out.
krisiun: it's like the answer to the question "what if anthony started a band with himself?" well, what if? I think they would look like krisiun. yes, after the 2 dates in a row thing, Krisiun have returned. They came out and said something about "fuck the media, they can't hold us down." I almost yelled "but aren't you on century media?" their set was as good as usual, but I was getting sleepy at this point in the night. So for most of their set I tuned out and just listened. At one point, the drums fell apart and the guitarist banged out a solo.

Great show!!! Belphegor playing before Krisiun was a joke. I know a few people got thrown out by the Nazi security for dumb reasons. I think 1349 will be my last Marks showplace show. Unless they book a band I can't refuse. I can't stand being at a show were security is standing behind you looking for a reason to throw you out.

unleashed: damn, they sounded awesome. the sound was perfect. The singer came out and called us warriors a bunch, but then they went right into the set and killed it. They played old songs first and then new songs and then old again. I think they only played 3 new songs. but what does it really matter? All of their stuff is top shelf. Even the CD that people don't like... Um.. 2 CDs ago. kevord tired to get me to take a picture of 2 girls doing the drunken limbada, but I refused and took a rape-flye photo of him instead. Jon drank from a horn amon amarth style before they ran off the stage for 5 seconds and then came back for the encore. over all it was excellent. this band's bridged a bunch of genres and it's cool to hear them mix it up. it's not all thrash or death or whatever. they flow effortlessly through their slow curning stuff into faster paced thrash sounds, tyng each song down with very simple yet epic lyrics that even the brain dead in the audience can pick up quickly.

This show was so fucking sick,great crowd! Seeing belphegor was amazing! I wanna thank the piece of shit security at Mark's for waiting untill just before the last unleashed song to escort me out,they are so bad ass that they need three security men to guide me to the door. I was well aware of the no moshing rules there,however when someone pushes me Im not gonna just stand there and fall on my ass. Thats when i got fucking ambushed. "we warned you three times"!!!!! Um yeah,sure. warned me for what? I had to get my jacket downstairs and these fuckers follow me,Crazy Dan had gotten thrown out an hour before,the poor dude was sitting in my car,he fucking missed Unleashed! Man fuck that place. Its like they are just waiting,lurking like fucking pubic lice. despite all the big brother watching shit,I had a blast. They may have fucked up the end of the night,but they didn't kill my good time!

This twice now for me. 2 out of 3 visits to Marks I've been booted...
Fuck that place. I'm just lucky the guy booting me out was so nice and understanding.
We got talked to and officially kicked out in the stripclub and they told us to leave so Mike leaves the club and I just bang a sneaky left back into the show hahah! 2 mins later some other guy comes up to me and is like "I was told you're supposed to leave..." so I reasoned with him that I'd never get to see this band again and that they came from Sweden and blah blah...sob story and he's like, "Okay, pay your bar tab, ou can watch three songs and they you're out." Pretty cool of him IMO. Little did he know I was watching the band and keeping an eye on the floor around the bar behind me for the blow I had wrapped up in a napkin and dropped hahah! I couldn't let it go to waste. Aparantly Serge found it for me and I told him he could do it which he's lucky he did before he got pulled over. Him and Max ended up back at my place at like 6am... Dan from Shroud went and bailed them out.

Missed just about every band on this show due to class getting out at 8 then going to Boston get Adam. However, Krisiun fucking killed. The last few albums have been so fucking heavy, I was extremely pleased. Unleashed was fucking great as well, it's awesome that so many sweet scandinavian bands have come thru with in the past few months. Tons of hair and in your face attitude, very cool.
After 7 years of worshipping the conquerors of armageddon, Adam and I got to blaze up with Moyses Kolesne of Krisiun after the show, very cool dude! It was nuts hearing him tell war stories about growing playing shows with Sepultura and Sarcofago among other things.
Also, did anyone catch that fucking Brian Griffin did the sound for this tour?
Very happy I went, it was totally worth it. A big thanks to DECONFORMITY for the tickets.
