So my band is poised to go back into the studio to record another demo. Can anyone reccomend a place around here to get CDs duplicated? And can anyone reccomend someone for layout design? (Obviously not Wonderdrug). We're not looking for anything fancy, at the most maybe a 4 panel insert. Something low key but semi professional looking (if you have a copy of the current BBA demo you'd realize how pretty much anything would be a step up for us)

Mike,
I'm looking to build up my portfolio so I'm designing all kinds of stuff for close to nothing. If you have a general idea of what you would like for cd art let me know.

Check out steves stuff. Seems like he does some pretty good work. Also check out aetherdesign.com. He did the In Dire Need stuff for me. Cool guy and good rates. For duplication I'd try superdups. They treated me well the few times I dealt with them. Great finished product too. Where are you guys going to record?

they're not bad, but they have the tendency to overshoot their due dates. hunt around online, there are places that are more reliable and have better turn-around times. if you do decide to go to superdups, make sure you go in to sign off on your proofs and not get .pdf proofs. when Shroud pressed 'of ages' I went in to sign off on the proofs so I knew the color would be correct, sometimes their printed color and the actual color don't match as closely as you'd like, and if that's the case, then you can have them tweak the color (graphics time is included in the packages so don't let them snake you out of more money for a simple color tweak)

I can say this with complete confidence, as I used to work there (hence how I ment Dan, he was in getting more copies of the shroud demo pressed)

The staff is good, and they're all wicked friendly, at least to your face...

that's just my two cents.

I recommend IconOmni for CD duplication. They are inexpensive and great quality. Check out their portfolio on their site. I anti-recommend Wonderdrug. Steer clear of those thieves.

I think Superdups used to outsource large runs to IconOmnimedia...

and I agree with Taste of Cigs, Wonderdrug is more like "WonderRape"
