What frequencies in the instruments should I drop so they're not all fighting with eachother. Everything sounds awesome individually but when it get's played together the guitars seem to get all fucked up and you can't hear certain parts, especially the fast parts sound all cluttered.

for guitars definitly cut anything under 80hz and it should help a bit. I keep the bass (instrument) at 55 my self. On guitar I usually block anything from 7k and up. Lots of people block at 4.5K and up. I start tappering at 4.5k, and totally filter out by 7ish. Of course all mic positions, mics, and preamps change how you EQ and what not, but them are some helpful hints.

Thanks, I'll post a clip in a little while. I'm gonna need a lot of help getting this to sound good before mastering.

Holy shit, that worked! haha. Thanks a lot! The guitars stand out a lot more without taking away anything else in the mix so I don't even have to adjust the levels.

Try two guitar tracks with one at a slightly lower volume (.7-1.5 dB)and delay of about 1/1000th of a second. Pan the main one at 90% left and 90% on the right.

Word. I did all the except the delay. I'll do that now. Thanks, Jeff. Should both guitar tracks of the delay or just one?

Just one with the delay.

yeah the delay trick works good. Gives it a nice huge sound. I personally don't go as far as 90 on the pan. I try to stick around 70-80 and ad a little reverb so it sounds more natural than modern digital. It takes you a tiny bit further out of the mix so it is not right up front. Sort of gives you more of a huge european sound.

Try notching out somewhere between 300 -500hz.
Cut before you boost.

Yeah, I actually have mine panned at 80. I moved it to 90 when Jeff suggested it but notice a difference so I went back to 80. Everything is sounded 10 times better now, thanks for all the advice.
