Apparently one of my great, great grandmothers was Bohemian(At the time of her birth it was Bohemia, now known as the Czech Republic). I will use this forever to say there is a rhapsody about me. Also, one of my great grandfather's was named Thor and straight off the boat from Sweden. That's the most metal thing I've ever heard. :doublehorns: |

That's how it is in America....and most countries..and for all of humanity. All the things I know about my ancestors are probably myths and legends, though a lot of them are famous myths. Hell I bet half the people here can't even name their great grandparents. I know my generation, my mom's generation but nothing about my father's side, though I have seen him a few times...I even know his name. then I know my grandparents and a few of their siblings, then bammmm I lost track of my ancestors a huge gap between them and our founding father. |
| _____________________________________ [May 24,2007 2:29am - sacreligion ""] this is exceptionally hard when your grandmother's maiden name is brown...i can trace it all the way back to the 1850 census but then it's damn near impossible the reason i don't know these things is because it's like a big secret in my family or something, nobody talks about it. as far as i know i'm the first person to bring it up in this generation. ancestry.com is limited because you can trace most roots back to the original country, but after that you pretty much have to go to said country and get the records yourself |
