I'm looking for something reliable enough that I can back up files and then delete them from my computer to conserve space. also plan on running my music from the external hard drive, junk like that. any opinions would be appreciated. |

USB wont sustain that 480Mbps transfer speed for like longer than 5 minutes. USB is better w/ small bursts. I allways back up my recording drive every couple of weeks to a usb drive. Copying around 30-40gb to a external drive took over 30 minutes, but with my FW400 external, its done in about 10-15 minutes. My next Ext.drive will be FW800 w/a sata drive, this will make backing up faster. |
