It's basically just reformatting, reinstalling windows, and getting everything JUST the way you like it, then using a program to save an "image" of the hard drive. Then when things get messed up after a month or so you just reimage, restoring it back to how it was when you saved it. It does by default.. but I personally don't save anything in my mydocs folder. What you can do though... is partition your machine into a C and a D drive, then move your my docs folder over to the D drive. Then when you reimage your C drive your my docs will stay put. |

After four or five supremely frustrating (and data-loss-a-rific) system crashes, I finally did a squeaky-clean Win2000 install (fuck XP) with all the meat-and-potatoes apps installed (WinZip, Acrobat, Powerbar, etc.), and Ghosted that shit to a couple of CDs. Bang - instant recovery disks, w/out all that free trial bullshit that usually comes with OEM restore CDs. |
