thegreatspaldino said:
the iphone has no instant messaging on it. which is lame. and the key pad looks kinda like a pain in the ass. not to mention the "permanent" battery, and the slow edge net where ever you cant get a wireless connection and inability to connect to some corporate mail programs = waste of money. keep your blackberry or whatever.
For instant messaging, you can use Meebo. http://wwwm.meebo.com/ There was a demo video about the keyboard that it "learns" your typing and anticipates the words you are typing enlarging the touchbox for the next letter it thinks you're going to type, as well as offering suggestions from its dictionary on the screen for you to choose from. You can probably find it somewhere on http://wwwm.apple.com/ You'll just have to go to an apple store or send it in to get the battery replaced. And I'm sure it won't be too long until you see replacement batteries available on ebay like they do with all the iPod's "permanent" batteries. When was the last time you had to replace your Blackberry battery anyways. They've greatly improved the EDGE network seemingly specifically for the iPhone. http://www.engadget.com/2007/06/28/atandt-customers-seeing-sudden-boost-in-edge-speeds/ It's not marketted towards coporate/business use. It has good integration with gmail, hotmail, and consumer pop3 shit. But yeah. All that shit aside, its still not worth the money at all and if you have one you're probably gay.
