Niccolai said:
the_reverend said:
this is something that I've been ponderin for a while... do I remove this link? same with the odless risin link. coule others too....something that directly impacts the underround of the underggground. what do people think? thus far, I ave refrained from commenting in these threads solely for the fact that a higher percentage of metal scene (as opposed to normal music fans) here will go out and buy the CD if they like it even after downloading it. is my silence complicity and acceptance? what do people think?
It's forgivable in certain circumstances... When people post leaked Nile or Opeth it's really not going to hurt the band, but smaller local bands like this posting their album for free could hurt sales significantly. Yea, I know alot of people say if they like the album they'll go buy it, but sexcrement has 3 free tracks on their myspace. if people get those three songs, that's enough to decide weather they like the album and if they will buy it or not. Then again, I don't speak on behalf of the band, maybe they don't even care for all I know, but I'm sure Josh will chime in and give his input.
the one thing it does do is give the band more exposure... there are a lot of bands on some of those music download sites that i've never heard of that i would kill to see live now.
