Just saw this, pretty positive reviews!! Very happy about the exposure. Although whoever reviewed the live set can't tell the difference between Symbolic and Pull the Plug. Fail.

MA repped it well in this issue though. I saw the Hirudinea/Watchmaker split reviewed in there and a whole page about Shroud of Bereavement.

i just picked up the magazine tonight and was happy to see some shroud coverage as well. the hirudinea/watchmaker review was pretty favorable as well.

Anthony I can't find the demo review, do ya know which page? (maybe I need new glasses, but I can't find Firing Squad, where they usually review demos)

I've subscribed to MM for years. This is the first all-glossy page issue as far as I know.
and MetalGeorge (The Accursed) has a fuck load more writing in there now, too!

its on the second page of firing squad, the issue has obituary on the cover.

From METAL MANIACS, October 2007:

FIRING SQUAD Demo Reviews, by Dave Brenner (p. 27)

Revocation
Summon the Spawn

"Appropriately titled Summon the Spawn as this could easily be confused with Summon (the band) covering Breeding the Spawn (the Suffocation album). Though a cheesy correlation, the tangled death/thrash comparisons are there. And yeah buddy, I'll bet these dudes listened to some Cynic and shit in their day, as the songs are technical in that coked-up Bobblehead/chicken-peck sense where it changes up too fast for you to really headbang - you just kind of "peck" in somewhat unison with what's going on 'til you get in the groove, then it's off to something else. Lots of classic thrash and tech-death, a tad of gore/grindish antagonism and an overall big stiffy for many non-pussy metal styles are all held here."

Onstage: New England Metal and Hardcore Fest 2007, by MetalGeorge Pacheco (p. 96)

"Boston's own Revocation was a last minute addition to the lineup, but made up for their lack of promotion with a fast 'n' furious set that was heavy on the thrash and light on the crowd banter. Delivering technical death/thrash in the vein of Pestilence and Ripping Corpse, the songs are a bit too intricate and drawn-out for their own good, and the band could use the services of a second guitar player. However, the overall effect was a pleasing whirlwind of sound and a proverbial breath of fresh air compared to the hardcore hurricane I'd been battling up to that point. Brownie points for the kickin' Death cover of 'Pull the Plug.'"

Metal Horacio loses for naming the wrong Death cover.

The Watain, Angelcorpse, Nachtmystium, CNV, Witch Tomb show was reviewed as well. Good issue. First time I have even touched a copy in years. Good to see it's a lot better nowadays.

Hmm. I could've sworn hearing "PtP" during their set. I remember half-drunkenly screaming it at somebody whilst near the merch area. If I was mistaken, then I am a goon, and shouldn't drink while I take notes.

the closest thing i got to being in a magazine was an issue of Pit Mag. it was just an ad for an album that never got released.
