They don't have it hardcoded so that you cannot change your name to nickserv or chanserv. They just have some bot always hold the nick. But if there's a netsplit, you can grab it and then watch as the nick passwords roll in from random idiots who have their scripts set to automatically /msg nickserv password blahblah I think now though, the norm is to do /nickserv instead of actually messaging nickserv. Those were the days, though. |
