I went for it, even though they practiced an hour away from me. It was great, but after a couple years I just couldn't handle the commute or the expense, so I had to quit. Now here I am considering doing the same damned thing again. Only, this time, the band is all the way in JERSEY. Someone, PLEASE, tell me I'm an asstard. I know it's a bad idea, but I need to hear some horror stories about long-distance band projects to help convince me not to do it. I wouldn't even consider it, but these guys are one of my favorite bands, and the new project sounds fucking awesome. Every time I listen to the tune they posted, I keep coming up with ideas on top of ideas on top of ideas. |

It's a prog-rockish band called The Postman System that I really dig a lot. They changed their name, and then the guy who used to do a lot of the singing and played guitar quit, so they're looking for a new singer that plays different instruments. On top of that the material they posted is really good, as far as I find myself immediately coming up with some great parts I could add/enhance with vocals and guitar. I'd love to try it, but I'm afraid to even send them something since I know it will end up being such a BAD idea. |
