A landmark album from one of Black metal's most influential bands - pure black metal in every sense, and I would say its probably the dirtiest sound they've ever gotten on any of their albums. Some other raw, nasty primitive stuff I've been loving lately are Autopsy's 1987 & 1988 demos, Absu's "Temples of Offal" e.p, and Mortem's (pre-Arcturus members) "Slow Death" demo. Not really black metal, but still as grim and raw as any black metal; I highly reccomend them! |

Their demo, Vargnatt is very raw but quite goofy... almost along the lines of Ved Buens Ende or For All Tid by Dimmu with the clean vocal parts. |
