Lynn woods, it's big, it's quiet, there's a cave and two towers, and it's in the middle of a city. and a place called Dunstable trail, a city in Mass right below Nashua. |

Our Chasm has the "Devil's Pulpit," sort of a little natural auditorium; the acoustics are really crazy there. New England has some interesting tales for every stone and hill and house there is. Damn straight. There's something really otherworldly about having an entire city to yourself; I wouldn't trade it for a New York-style "city that never sleeps (or shuts up)". The Christian Scientist plaza is crazy at night. |
| _______________________________ [Sep 24,2007 12:42pm - Yeti ""] i walk roughly 3 miles every day, to and from the train stations and work. i love walking, and though i miss the convenience, i can deal without a car. i have the ability to get one, i just don't care to. in terms of woods walking, Douglas State Park, Purgatory Chasm, and the various woods around the Worcester area, particularly in Auburn out past the sand pits by the Sportsman's Club. Quabbin is also a great walk, there are tons of trails. |

I picked up a book from a series called Saltbox New England, printed somewhere in Salem MA. It's a whole series of small books on New England, the one I have is about pre-Columbus New England. There's all kinds of maps to check out stones with carvings, dolmens, and caves that were left by templars, Irish, Phoenicians, and Vikings |

Then the old ass train tracks got turned into the commuter rail, right through my fucking backyard. I don't enjoy walking around as much anymore since I'm flat-footed and have terrible knees, but when I went to school in Boston, I walked around for hours on end listening to music and seeing what the city had to offer; I lost 25 pounds walking around like that, but if I ever go into Boston now I just drive. It's boring as hell walking around where I live because there is absolutely nothing besides horse farms and old people. |
