_____________________________________ [Nov 2,2007 7:48pm - the_reverend ""] giant: so good. I got in and saw that they were laying and was very happy. I saw them once before in a venue with terrible.sound. This sounded perfect. Slow build ups akin to gsybe! And very harsh vocals. They are so worth checking out. |
_____________________________________ [Nov 2,2007 8:28pm - the_reverend ""] animosity: they started off really really rough. The sound was horrible for them, the drummer looked like he was on a scavenger hunt instead of playing drums. The vocals fed back a bunch and all you could hear was the bass. Towards the middle of their set, they got into a groove and tore it up. I don't remember most of the people on stage. just me or did they change 2-3 members? The end of their set was a new song sort of ended on a down beat IMHO. Should have ended with a different song. people it crowd surf a little and here was a small circle pit. |
_____________________________________ [Nov 2,2007 9:27pm - the_reverend ""] horse the band: the singer spent most of the time pushing people away from the keyboards. I think he even got kicked in the face once by a stage driver. Uh, I mean divers. Also stage divers kept just getting tossed back on stage. The singer gave everyone a lesson in how not to dive. Plenty of times, 5 people would cross over each other on top of he crowd before the weight was too much and they collapsed. The set was all a big sweaty mess. One of the guys with the tour was trying to get the stage lights on in the back for almost the entire set. After asking everyone about it, Barney finally came from downstairs and did it for him. Pretty damn good set and not too many people left once they were done. Only a few overly sweaty people. I'm finally starting to feel the soldoutness in the air and by that, I mean the huge ammount of other people sweat in the air. Mm mmm... |

_________________________________________ [Nov 3,2007 7:59am - corpus_colostomy ""] listened to colors from start to finish with a bro of mine like two weeks ago, who insisted that this was the 'most prolific, genre defying album'...yadda, yadda. after listening to the whole album i couldn't believe how long winded and pretentious, colors was. its easy to hear that these guys are excellent musicians and that, the first album remains, in my opinion to be very SICK!..but this was almost hilarious to me. even more sad is that as the album progresses you can really get the sense that these doods think that they have re-invented the wheel with this one...but its just more psudeo-intellectual faggotry to me. they should tour with tool...lemmings would crawl outta the woodwork for that shit. |

______________________________ [Nov 3,2007 10:55am - Blue ""] last time i saw them (right when alaska came out), half of their set was songs from the self titled. they had the right idea then. |
____________________________________________ [Nov 3,2007 10:58am - todayistheday nli ""] think the last time I saw them was when they played fat cats ...during silent circus era...when they only had the one guitarist....it was awesome but they could only play like 5 songs |

____________________________________ [Nov 4,2007 10:46am - immortal13 ""] I would have rather seen more of the old shit, especially off the self-titled album, because I've already listened to colors so much that seeing them play it live straight through is a bit...boring. |

___________________________________ [Nov 5,2007 4:35pm - brandon... ""] Fuck that the show was definatley good. I think any band who makes a cd where the songs flow into each other, would have to play them back to back for at least one tour. And more credit to them for doing that. They were tight as fuck as well. |
_________________________________________ [Nov 7,2007 3:51pm - jess from Maine ""] Seriously, it was amazing that they played ALL of Colors!! The encore of 'Selkies' was nice, but I would have rather heard something off The Silent Circus. I want to hear them play 'Aesthetic'. I've seen them 3 times and have never heard them play that...does anyone know if they have ever played that song live? |
_____________________________________ [Nov 7,2007 4:15pm - the_reverend ""] I would have rather heard aspirations... they last played that in what, 2003? |
___________________________________ [Nov 7,2007 5:11pm - brandon... ""] Yea ive seem them play aesthetic before. But ive never seen them play that song on the silent circus with the made up name. AD A DGLGMUT i would love to see that. As for the revs comment id love them to play aspirations or more of my self to kill. I dont think they play aspirations cause of the drummers 80s singing in the middle of the song. They've had two drummers since and i dont think they've played it since then. |
