Does anyone here have any tips as to which pre-paid cell phones are the best /cheapest, and where to obtain such?

yeah Tmobile has good support in Germany (not being sarcastic, I've had them for years but got off prepaid since I prattle on for so long about farts and such)

I've had several pre-paid phones. T-Mobile was definitely the cheapest. If you have a lot of friends who have Cingular, their pre-paid deal can be pretty cheap, too because you can talk to anyone who has Cingular for free.

Before I had a plan, I always bought pre-paid phones, sim cards, and minutes on eBay because it costs less than buying it in a store. I once got $100 worth of minutes for my T-Mobile pre-paid phone for $85 on eBay.
