Ya it is. The tracks they're walking in are my 4 wheeler tracks. I usually ride out there and park the 4 wheeler right there when I hunt. That whole area is FULL of deer tracks as well. I still can't believe that I didn't get any deer pics. However, it looks like the deer were moving through there after this last storm(s).

Hahahahaha.....Moose is great if you have ever tried it. As good as beef and wayyy better than deer. Unfortunately you can't hunt moose in my WMD (Wildlife Management District.) I could hunt them if I wanted to. I am so far away from anything that nobody would hear or really care for that matter. BUT, I am as law abiding as they come when it comes to wildlife, so I wouldn't ever do it. They are a majestic animal to say the least and very well respected up here. I leave them alone, but they are fun as hell to watch.

By the way, that camera was hung at my waist level, so you at least have some scale as to how fucking humongous they are.

No, not at all. They're very high tech nowadays.

It's a Moultrie I-40.

At night it takes infrared pictures...it detects body heat and snaps the pics without a flash so that you don't spook the animals.

During the day it uses a typical motion sensor found in any security system.

They cost about $350 so they better no shit the bed in the cold. I want about 5 more of these things...anyone want to donate to the "Awesome Maine Wildlife Photos Association"?

Well, these things are surely an investment of sorts. I have wanted one forever, and couldn't afford it. My wife bought me one for Christmas because I have nagged for one for so long.

I just re-set it in the same spot. I will post pictures as they come in. I have it set on "video" mode right now, so the next one we see will be a 30 second video.

It really is an awesome piece of equipment. Valuable to the hunter and the wildlife watcher alike. If you have about $350 and some land, I recommend it. It's great fun.

Thing is, this is what I see live when I'm out hunting. I'm glad to have been able to share it with hunters and non-hunters alike.

It's cool shit.
