Mastodon will be premiering new material from their upcoming album for the first time. Neurosis is supporting their critically-acclaimed career-watermark Given To The Rising. The Friday January 25 show is close to selling out. A limited amount of tickets are still available for Thursday January 24 show. Tickets can be purchased at http://www.brooklynmasonictemple.com, and also at Other Music in Manhattan, and Sound Fix in Williamsburg. Two bands on Neurosis own label Neurot Recordings will open - US Christmas on January 24 and A Storm of Light on January 25. Doom and ambient metal were terms not even invented over twenty years ago in 1985 when Neurosis first formed in northern California. Creating a unique and profound mix of heavy drones and experimental arrangements, Neurosis have influenced artists like Mastodon, Isis and Pelican, collaborated with Swans and, with their pioneering use of synchronized, custom-made visuals during live performances, no doubt influenced Tool. Neurosis will perform at the appropriately cultish Brooklyn Masonic Temple with special guest Mastodon. |
