drummer needed - noise / expirimental / post punk / metal - JP[views:3647][posts:6]____________________________________ [Jan 21,2008 6:12pm - retsnomrev ""] Hey, we're just getting ourselves together and trying to write some stuff from the ground up. We'd like to be able to follow whatever ideas happen without having a specific vision laid out, but there are a few things that we all seem to agree on so far. We're interested in things that are kind of stripped down / dark / odd. Our influences range from black metal to shellac / fugazi / battles style post-punk to ambient noise & beyond. Not so much into emo or hardcore or anything like that. Ideally the project would be completely collaborative and we would all develop ideas together. Right now we have 4 people in the group: a bassist, a full time noise guy, and two guys who can play guitar, sing, and play drums. We are looking for a full time drummer, ideally with some other skills as well (keyboard / guitar / noise / whatever). You should have your own kit and be open to the idea of double drums on some parts. It has/had the original lead singer of TREOS? Anyway, I play drums and some keys as well. I'm awaiting a really nice electronic drum pad as well that could be useful. I also program with Logic and Reason. |

I have a controller keyboard and a laptop that I'm thinking I will probably integrate into the project ... I also have a Roland SPDS sampling drum pad thingy that I'd be interested in using too. It's pretty up in the air right now. We've got a few ideas we've been tossing around, but it's kind of all about just getting people together in a room, playing off of something someone has been working on, and seeing where it goes.
