Hey, I'm happy to be playing this show. And there are plenty of things i do like about this band. But come on, Murph. You knew this was the reaction that would come from this place. And in no way does not liking Protest the Hero imply that he hates music...it's not like they're the be all, end all.

Actually, I think we get significantly less bashing than I thought we would since our time on this board.
And in no way am I sensitive. In fact, I didn't say anything about this show or us. Brian just sat behind the keyboard and started sweating thinking the end was imminent, because he wears glasses and we all know people who wear glasses care way too much. We've opened for some bands I've liked, and plenty that I thought were like hot garbage, and then some than carried the banner for "meh."

when i saw them open up for trivium (yes i drove to worcester just to see them and left before trivium and whoever else played) everyone was trying to boo them off stage and the singer was talkin shit about kids in the crowd. it was pretty funny. i guess it comes with the territory of trying to shred at a metal show with a mostly emo sounding singer. but yea im definitely not surprized that most people on this board dont like pth. im absolutely stoked to be playing with them though

I liked this band alot when i had their cd. Somone stole it and i havent heard the new stuff. And i disagree with people not liking the vocals. If the guy didnt sing i dont think i would like it. Although they shred its too metalcore sounding. The vocals kinda add sumthing.
The down side about them is, the dont sound good live. Ive watched a bunch of awful youtube videos from them. That kinda turned me off. Fun band tho on cd

I just watched a video and listened to two tunes off the new album. I have the same issue I had with the first album I bought. The guitars and bass parts turn me on a little, but that vocalist just stomps all over everything in the worst way possible.
I'm still tempted to go to this, though. It would be definite, but I don't know if I'll be outta work in time.

mourning the dead: for a band that I've never heard of before, they were really tight with a high quality sound to them. A lot of interesting new and old school riffs. Some parts at the beginning had a little BDM sound to them, but that might have only been one song. Good stuff.

Dour Cursiva: all the talk of poopies and pooping before they hit the stage aside... Have they have gotten a lot bigger? There were a lot of people singing along and some dancing. Plus there were plenty of people in jiggabo wears buying DC goods. They had a similar sound issue to mourning the dead which leads me to believe that it is in fact the stage. The sound was terribly thin on the stage. In front of the speakers it was decent, but behind the speakers there was only what was reflecting back from the crowd. No monitors! besides that, they sounded just like their CD.

acariya: a huge number more people here rocking out for them. Interesting that when they play NH, metalheads go see them, but in PVD, it's all swooped hair and tizzight panteloonez. As far as I could tell, it was all the same songs from the NH show last week. The set sounded a lot better too. No pile up, but you can always get what you want. Like if you want cypress hill, ya get teased.
