Mezzo Forte was fucking amazing and Fortissimo just got leaked and i really have to say that these guys are probably the best doom band around right now. they just have a different approach to the same sound that makes them that much better. the end of "Darkness" on Fortissimo just hits me so hard. all i can imagine during the end is descending out of a plane and freefalling torwards the earth as the apocalypse is happening. its so beautiful and yet so dismal and depressing. anyone that loves doom metal (not mindless droning doom, more like funeral doom i guess) should check out Mezzo Forte and Fortissimo... hell even their older stuff too. definitely for fans of Saturnus, Desire, Shape of Despair, Evoken, Morgion, Monolithe, Swallow the Sun, so on and so forth. I remember some people arguing the same thing about Antithesis of Light, in comparison to Quietus. A Caress of the Void is typical Evoken; monstrous, dark, and narcotic. |
