And not much separates the AFC East from some of the other divisions. If you look at the combined wins of teams in their respective divisions that didn't make the playoffs you get AFC East: 12 Wins NFC South: 17 Wins NFC West: 16 Wins AFC West: 15 Wins Granted 12 combined wins between 3 football teams playing 16 games a piece is pitiful. But had a few key factors been different (JP Losman staying healthy, Ronnie Brown staying healthy, the dolphins not squandering a draft pick on Ted Ginn, Chad Pennington staying healthy, the Jets actually hiring a football coach) those numbers very well might not have been what they were. |
