i don't know if you like meshuggah at all, but thier guitar player Fredrik Thordendal has a solo album called: "Fredrik Thordendal's Sol Niger Within" it's a concept album. It is a masterpiece. Have you heard "The Mahavishnu Orchestra"? They are like real trippy, real real real progressive rock-ish fusion stuff, they are great. How about "Prelapse"? It's a band from japan with our very own John Zorn the Saxophone master guest appearing on their album. Its spastic, it covers pretty much every musical genre, and it does all that within pretty much every 2-5 minute song. One of the best albums ever. I swear by it. While we are talking about John Zorn, i should mention his long time band "Naked City". Just like Prelapse they are really wierd, and seriously talented. Lots of fun. John Zorn was also in "Masada" which is him on Sax, a drummer, a bass player, and another horn. (I am not sure which kind of horn it is) but the dueling melodies they have in masada will make your back crawl. Its sick.
