Wetnurse Signs to Seventh Rule Recordings[views:1850][posts:3]_______________________________________ [Apr 16,2008 12:23pm - the_reverend ""] Seventh Rule Recordings announces the newest member of its family: Wetnurse. >From the heart of New York City, Wetnurse emerges with a signature style that carries forth the spirit of some of the Big Apple's most crucial heavy bands -- Bad Brains, Swans, Unsane, Quicksand, Brutal Truth... Seventh Rule Recordings owner Scott Flaster describes Wetnurse: "The urgency of early hardcore; the aggro, off-kilter noise of the AmRep heyday; the raw, outcast power of early death metal; the melodic transcendence of classic rock... All these influences exist within Wetnurse's music, yet theirs is something totally new and progressive." Since its inception, Wetnurse has played shows with bands ranging from Isis to Cro-Mags, and has completed several tours of the US. A self-released, self-titled 2004 debut earned Vice Magazine's highest rating and a 9/10 review in Decibel Magazine. Lambgoat.com has praised Wetnurse as "this era's Deadguy." Seventh Rule, a Chicago-based label with albums by Akimbo, Sweet Cobra, Buried At Sea, and Indian under its belt, will release Wetnurse's brand new full-length, "Invisible City," in fall 2008. "Invisible City" was recorded and mixed by Martin Bisi (Sonic Youth, Helmet) at B.C. Studios and mastered by Alan Douches (Mastodon, Converge) at West West Side Music. East Coast shows are booked throughout the spring and summer with Today Is The Day, Cable, Dead Child, Tombs, and more. Hear a track from "Invisible City" here: www.myspace.com/wetnursenyc |
