The 56-foot dead whale had been on a truck headed for an autopsy at a university earlier this week, when gases from internal decay caused its entrails to explode in the southern city of Tainan. The whale had died after it was beached on the southwestern coast of the island. |

A dead whale had washed up next to a road, and since it was the Highway Patrol's responsibility, they decided to blow it up (what else?). They packed the whale with dynamite, and the explosion showered chunks of meat and blubber on people (and their cars) who thought they were a safe distance away. There's a video of this floating around somewhere. Also, I think Old Man Gloom wrote a song about it (exploder whale) |
