I think I've posted something like this before. But it's still fun. Post music you've been listening to lately that is totally out of the norm for you. Others feel free to make suggestions, and childishly ridicule people.

Weird shit I've been listening to lately:
- old Reggae and ska specifically Prince Buster, and Toots & the Maytals
- Thai music
- the Rocky IV soundtrack (which is the most incredible music ever to lift weights to, as long as you don't get stuck on James Brown "Living in America" in the middle of a bench press set. )

I used to hate it too. I made a trailer for This Is England in my post production class, and used a Toots & the Maytals song in it and I got hooked. I listen to Toots, Prince Buster, and the Specials when I run. I can seriously run an extra 2 - 3 miles when I listen to this stuff.

I fall into the same category as Cav, I've been listening to huge amount of Sigur Ros lately. And, I will admit, a friend of mine burnt me a copy of the new Panic at the Disco album for my birthday, and I think it is amazing. I didn't have high hopes based on the way the media has sold these guys, but the new stuff is Beatle-esque in its composition and execution.

I'm a faggotus maximus, but luckily Rotten Sound, Entombed, Victims, and Coliseum are also in the car.

theres nothing unusual about that, if you listen to more than their newest stuff which isnt bad either then you can see how talented they are. i saw a dvd where the guy sings, plays guitar and plays keyboards at the same time. also that same dvd the bassist sang, played bass and played some crazy floor bass contraption. regardless origin of symmetry is an amazing album.

College radio loooooooooves these records. The Sublime Frequencies Thai records (Molam: Thai Country Groove from Isan Volumes 1 and 2 and Thai Pop Spectacular) are also awesome, as is the Siamese Temple Ball album.

I think I have a FTW here, this is Yezidi music.

brief history of the Yezidi people:

Basic teachings and Beliefs of Yezidism: Yezidi beliefs are a complicated mixture of Islamic and Zoroastrian beliefs, with Gnostic, Jewish, and Shamanistic elements. Worship centers around Angels (Malek is from the Arabic word for 'angel'), the most important of which is named Melek Taus, or the "Peacock Angel," also known as Lucifer. Lucifer plays a different role in Yezidism, where he is considered the chief Archangel, and the creator of the material world. In Yezidi belief, Lucifer is not a fallen angel, nor Satan, nor the enemy of God. In Yezidi cosmology, the Universal Spirit (the Supreme, unknowable deity) created a pearl, which became shattered after a period of forty thousand years. Melek, or Lucifer, used the remains of the pearl to create the material world. After this creation, the Spirit created the remaining Angels. Yezidi theology claims that Lucifer was forgiven for his transgressions, and those who revere him are the spiritual elect of humanity. They are forbidden from referring to him as Satan.

That's right, they worship Satan! but not in his form as evil devil dude. They've been persecuted by Muslims, Christians and Jews for this worship of a good lucifer.

clint eastwood was off the first cd. i was talking about the second one. the first one has more good songs on it but i think some of the songs off demon days are better than any on the first cd.

i rock a mean clint eastwood at karaoke, though. won me $50 one time.
