Finally. I have been waiting a year for this, I am going down tomorrow afternoon for the wake and staying over night. NOT looking forward to this. I hate NY. No matter how bad people say it is here (NE) it's nowhere near as bad as NY. I grew up there and you couldn't pay me to live there again. Holy shit is every goddamn thing outrageously expensive. Sorry, just venting...

Mine was 87, she suffered a stroke last year and pretty much died, but my father being the bleeding heart douche that he is, left her on life support for a whole year. Claiming "Bobby, I just can't kill my mother, I want to give the best quality of life I can" to which my response was "she all ready is DEAD, the machine is making her breathe, what the hell kind of quality of life is that?" the he hung up on me.
I know from personal experience how hard it is to pull the plug, but for me I understand the reality of the situation. So people just don't understand that sometimes you have to separate emotion from logic.

She was in the first stages of it when she had the stroke, I do consider it lucky for her and for us that the stroke got to her first.

Nick thanks bro, I appreciate it.

Fo shizzle.

Better that it's done with at this point, but I'm guessing that doesn't make it much easier. Both my grams were pretty much "time to go already" when they died, so I know where you're at. Drive safe.
