Then after hearing all of that I was just amazed at how much the rest of the band was not that talented without his writing. Kirk, good butnot great, james rythm and lars... could play the drumes with his big mouth... I think Cliff would of changed but not to the point to let B. Rock controll and change the whole matter of what metalica was and to tame and radioize the thrash music. Thrash was not introduced to the mass, but nicely packaged and padded for all hard or rock and roll fans... Thus becoming the not so important metal band of the 90's :nuke: |

They didn't come into being until halfway through RTL. Cliff was instrumental in getting them to think melodically and use more than basic power chords. I still cannot call Metallica a thrash band. Thrash is DRI. Metallica is archetypal speed metal. I still like RTL and KEA but can't listen to MOP. It's too self-satisfied. |
