| ______________________________________ [Aug 23,2008 8:31pm - the_reverend ""] soul control just finished. it was weird. like not a single person that I thought would dance around to them did. there was almost no reaction for them. still, they rocked. the vocals sometimes sound like old ringworm. that just added to the 1990's feel of the whole thing. this is an interesting start to a show. we will see if this turns into a folded arms fest or everyone's just holding out for the headiners. |

I feel sort of bad for the fans in the house. No one here does not have a camera. There are tons of p&s, dslrs, and video recording devices. One guy has a pro-looking movie camera type dealie. But he's off to the side. Im trying my best not to ruin anymore hardcores where in the past I has ruined them. I has. The band reminded me of thee 90's nh band humpmuscle which sounded like a more campy and rock/metal version of scissorfight. they leave a lot of the longer rocknroll wanking off from seemless off. All in all just rocky good time music. |

(and for avoiding me when he jumped off stage) Somehow one of their recordings got on my iPod and rocked (recording quality wasn't the best but still) a song which they played last. I was pumped when their name was listed on this tour thing. I saw one of the stickers on their gear totally reminded me of the CD at WUNH. I need t find it stat. The music was so late 90's, but in the best way imaginable. A time with deadguy/coalese and bands what we dissonant as well as brutal. The singer made a comment about his vocals finally joining them on stage 1/2 way through the set. Everyone laughed, but it was so true. It sounded so much better after that. |
| _______________________________________ [Aug 23,2008 11:06pm - the_reverend ""] jamey jasta: basically, in its current form, jamey jasta (hatebreed/icepick/kingdom of sorrow) in front of the providence based band Phantoms, playing covers of hatebreed/icepick/kingdom of sorrow and playing one original mixed in there. Sound totally lame right? When you say it like that it is... But in practice, it came of superb. Jasta, the kids backing him up, and the crowd just had fun with it. It was at this point that I remembered how tired I had been driving to the show and how not-tired I was at this moment. Sing alongs and stage dives. That's what this was all about. That and a dude who plays shows to thousands having just as good as a time in front of 100. They also ended with before dishonor which brought the crowd into a [controlled] frenzy. |
