This is way easier to just do on a guitar and transcribe into regular notation. Fuck Mozart and his stupid face! Anyone else taken advanced theory classes before? |

| _____________________________________ [Sep 23,2008 7:06pm - sacreligion ""] i'm in what SHOULD be a music composition course but said course was cancelled due to low enrollment. now i'm doing an independent study with the guy and it's proving to be quite the pain in the ass. learning cadences and expanded chords will really help the songwriting process though...especially when your ears are telling you to do one thing and you can come up with a different inversion to make it more interesting, etc. |

Right now I have to get all my general engineering classes and core requirements aside before I can get into doing my Music minor and Electrical Engineering major. I hope to eventually go to a music school but even a few classes will really help me. And I think I know enough theory to test out of Music Theory 1 and probably 2, leaving my electives open to take advanced classes. |

It's really challenging but it's AWESOME for ear training and tonal memory. Now I'm doing Rock Ensemble (all for fun because I don't have any performance requirements) and it's a lot of fun.
