attn drummers: shipping drums?[views:6080][posts:12]______________________________ [Oct 2,2008 11:22am - poop ""] i'm gonna be movin to the west coast in a few weeks and was wondering if anybody here has shipped their drumset before i checked out what other people have done online and they basically shipped each drum separate i was wondering about maybe shipping just the shells kind of inside one another and the heads and stuff separate any ideas? |

Best bet is to see if there is a co. that would crate them/$$$ but then you can have them inone big shipment. Otherwise you need to box them seperatly and then pay for insurance for all boxes.. No win situation unless you know somone who is making a treck to where u r going and can take them for you? Sorry! |

I fit a 6-piece set in 2 (large) boxes this way. BUY LOTS OF INSURANCE. IT IS CHEAP. The first time I shipped my set UPS fucked up the boxes. It killed one of bass drum rims - it looked much worse than it was (the actual drums were fine) but I got full insurance $$$ back from them and bought a whole second kit with it. I could have bought twice as much insurance and gotten twice as much back. |

_______________________________ [Oct 11,2008 1:18pm - Seth ""] I dont remember getting my drums packed within each to other they came in each individual boxes... wrapped up. i dont think you will have problems is you pack them any way, but just package them and get a good courier or ??? and mark them as fragile etc and the insurance should cover it. one way or the other. |
