For the Archaeon CD, we recorded through a 1x12 Orange and I fucking hated it. There was so much speaker distortion that it wasn't even the amps talking anymore. I can't speak for the 4x12 but I'm sure it's better than the 1x12. |

In contrast the clean channel is a volume control and "tone" toggle switch between about 6 sounds. It's power is it's simplicity. Maybe not the best amp for metal, but an amazing rock amp. Orange 1x12...I can't speak to that. This is the best, loudest cab I've ever had. Actually, not true. The Earcandy 2x12 is louder than any 4x12 I've ever played. Again, an Orange cab may not be the best thing for metal. I run the Bad Cat through it. Mids really shine through that thing...and mids aren't always a best pal of death metal. But my priority with sound is to have an immense sound. Lower gain (ENGL on about 3, Bad Cat 4), high mids, and variety of speaker options. blah blah blah. |
