I wrote in the Boo Urns blog that Torii Hunter looked like he was playing for the Washington Generals with all the comically bad plays he was making. Game ball goes to Varitek for running down Reggie Willits (a guy that Tek rightfully has no business running down) and hanging onto the ball long enough to get the out. I've bashed the guy up, and down this season for his bat, but goddamnit he's still a team leader. Willy Aybar might be the worst baseball player in the world. The Fenway infield hasn't seen play that bad since Luis Rivera. The fact that the Angels figured they could get rid of Orlando Cabrera to bring in this guy pissed me off every time I saw him play. |
