I agree with Kadoogadoodoo ...the core principals of christianity are acceptable. its the followers that ruined it.
so you agree with the fact that there is one god and we should all worship him, and keep sunday holy for him, and praise no false idols... because while some of the morals that go along with christianity are wonderful, they are shared by almost every religion in the world. (sans Muslims.) A good deal of religions in fact, have the same "golden rule-esque" principles. While these are fantastic, the fact that he wanted me to bow to our lord god, his father mind you, is too much. I stand by what i said. fuck him.
believe what ever you want man. i dont worship anyone. i do however believe there is some kind of higher power that has influence (i think its more of an Energy than a God though.) and by core principals i mean the basics - being good to one another and respect for your fellow human. these things are core values of most religions and if they did not exist, man surely would not have evolved to this point without destroying itself by now. i have no respect for the atrocities committed in the name of one man or power but i think a full rich life can be obtained by following those core principals taught by both the christian philoso phyand other religions. the problems happen when metaphorical stories are taken literally and devout followers feel the need to push their personal beliefs upon others. well thats just one of the problems ...there are many.
sir, sir sir... i am not saying that there is no higher power (although that is how i feel, that is irrelevant.) The conversation was about whether or not to "fuck" christ. It seemed to me that you were under the impression that those wonderful moral values were all he taught, i was just stating otherwise. And i totally agree with the fact the followers are corrupt as hell, and have ruined any unity/compassion the message would have conveyed. I am just saying that Jesus in particular wanted you to praise his god.
