Yeah, the greatest metal band in existance is probably Maiden. But I would say that Opeth is probably in the top 5 active metal bands, and is in the top 3, or 1, of the current death metal bands.

Unfortunately, Moonspell is playing before Devil Driver. So after we watch an OK band do a 45 minute set, we have to watch a horrible band do an hour set before we see the good shit.

Demon of the Fall is their only song that I can thinkg of that could be called a death metal song. They have some death roots and death elements, but they're not prog death, their prog something else, or just modern progressive metal.
I'm a fan of them and all but I'm so sick of all the worship. They're just a band, a good band, but still just a band. They even said that by either 2004 or 2006 (I forget which) they're going to lose it and totally crap out.
Aaarrgghhh. I'm just going to have to stop looking at threads about Opeth.

ya i moonspell is pretty good, devildriver isnt as bad as the singers old band coal chamber but i'd rather see devildriver opening instead of moonspell, either way its gonna be a sick show, i guess another band is playing with them called class of zero (opeth's site says from the 27th to the 30th so tht might have meant january or something), so they'd probably be opening, anybody ever heard of them?

opeth is a form of death metal, not straight up death like morbid angel or something... but the death metal is there in the music. ProgDeath it is.

Agreed. And Dom, you should probably just stop looking at threads about anything. Unless of course you can agree with something. Anything at all. If I made a mohawk appreciation thread, you would probably say that mohawks aren't actually a hair style and that they suck. Please excuse my pointless rambling.
