Because they're insane or stupid in 99% of all cases, and the remaining 1% are at soup kitchens and living in shelters." don't tell me that, tell the guy in the video, he posed that question, in my experience with homeless people that I know personally (6 isn't very many, I admit) and the dozens I've encountered in big cities, stupidity only applies some of the time, and that stupidity is largely caused by their environment, which could have been prevented if legislation was enacted to give them at least marginal education and keep them off of drugs, the crazy ones need help as much as the next crazy guy in a home for nutcases, which would ideally be provided for by similar legislation, and those in shelters are typically crazy and stupid too, and when they are truly down on their luck then they deserve to be helped, but no one should have to be homeless, which few "true" conservatives are willing to admit, if the system works in the way that conservatives see it, non-productive people who fail to adapt to the competitive capitalist society (which is entirely controlled by the rich, by the by, most of which are not innovators, but inherited their wealth, status, and the education and job opportunities that go along with those traits), they should be left to fend for themselves, if not adapting as cogs in the machine then to be allowed to die, homeless starving, diseased and addicted SOME people out there truthfully resign themselves from the system and try to continue sucking on the tit of the system (crusties), those people should be ignored, but maybe the ones without opportunity should be given a chance |

Every time I think of Native Americans trying to make their place in Washington, all I can think of are the Narragansetts in Rhode Island back in 2006 lobbying to build a casino outside of their reservation that would involve changing the state constitution to legally build and provided bonus monetary incentives for only people of their heritage. Their argument for it was that somehow money from this casino would fund schools and taxpayers rather than line the pockets of the owners and they should get to build it because their smoke shop got raided a few years earlier, an incident that escalated to being a riot after the Narragansetts barricaded the doors from state troopers with violent force. |
