So what do you think this election says about the past 2?

So now that the guy everyone wanted won, and we're all political geniuses, what do you think Barack Obama (a guy who plenty of people said couldn't win because he was too young and too black) winning the presidency says about the democrats last 2 botched attempts to keep George Bush, a guy obviously unfit for office, out of the white house?

IMO, I think it debunks the conspiracy theories about Republicans rigging the election, and reinforces the reality of the situation that both Gore, and Kerry were weak candidates that ran poor campaigns. Obama is a likable well spoken guy without the zombie-ish tendencies of Gore and Kerry. Last night during the election coverage CNN pointed out a number of times that Obama strayed significantly from traditional democrat campaign strategies. I don't know exactly what that means, but the results are what they are.

Do you think this victory will finally put the conspiracy theories to rest?

It says that the electorate are stupid, whining brats.

The economy went bad? Blame the guy in office -- not the origin of the problem.

We don't like wars. We fear "fascism."

In the meantime, we've elected the candidate with the most fascist corporate endorsements in history. Good work.

Agreed about debunking the "rigged election" bullshit.

Obama sounds like a more liberal version of standard democrat, except on foreign policy. There he seems a warmonger.

He is also I think going to be less tolerant of domestic dissent than Bush, and his followers clearly have no problem endorsing censorship et al.

The American people proved themselves to be chumps last night. The world is now laughing at us, in private, while praising us in public. Everyone wants to weaken the alpha male.

I think last night was a big fuck-you to the religous right, a big fuck-you to the neocons, and hopefully a giant wake-up call to the Republican party to kick the Jesus freaks out. There hasn't been a true conservative president since Eisenhower.

I actually think people will form organizations designed to take him out. After seeing those huge glass panels surrounding him last night, I can only imagine what we're about to endure the next 4 years.
I hope the SS is hiring. Not that, SS, the other one..right?

We need more H.L. Mencken conservatives.

I think last night was the sound of America dividing between those with a clue, and those who voted for Obama because they were having a tantrum ;)

Haha, were they?
Damn, I've had 3 people tell me today that they're scared now because of those and the helicopters that were flying overhead.
And plus, I was still celebrating Question 2.

Your hatred of liberals is clouding your eyes.
I have a lot of respect for people who normally wouldn't vote for someone like Obama in a billion years but voted for him last night in order to keep people like Palin the fuck away from the White House.

Unfortunately, people on the large part will probably never point the finger at the Clinton administration for the death sentence it put on the American economy.

message I just got

"I talked to my mom on the phone yesterday. She lives in North Carolina, where it's hunting season now. She overheard a conversation between two hunters yelling to each other in the woods behind her house.

"Hey Billy, who you voting for?"

"The nigger"!"

Obama would be nobody without the financing, networking, media support and other forms of assistance provided by Zbigniew Brzezinski, the Trilateral Commission, the CFR, and other members of the financier elite.

Congratulations President Obama!

What the election has said is irrelevant to me at this point. We have our guy. We know who's going to be the leader of this country for the next four years. So what we need to do is just keep a close eye on everything he does. Most people won't, but still, I'll do my best.

Also, I'm breathing a sigh of relief that I'll never have to give a shit about what Sarah Palin does ever again.
